Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get promotion points for completing a Headstart2 course?

In order to receive promotion points for completing a Headstart2 course, please register for the course via ATRRS and then take the course via the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) website at https://jkodirect.jten.mil/
Retirement points for HS2 completion are not currently available.

I signed up for access to one of the Headstart2 programs and I can't remember my password.

The Headstart2 program saves your course progress and user information on your local computer only, so we are unable to access your username and/or password for you. We have uploaded versions of each Headstart project to JKO that will store user progress in a remote location instead of locally. The JKO Headstart courses are available at https://jkodirect.jten.mil/

The activities take a long time to load on my iPad, or don't load at all. What's going on?

Please check your Internet connection. If you are using Wi-Fi, please make sure you have a strong signal with a fast connection.

I have a login and a password setup for a Headstart2 course at my work computer, but when I try to access it at home it says that my account isn't registered.

Your user information is stored on your local computer only, so be aware that your progress is not transferable to other locations. Also, we will not be able to help you reset your password, so please pick something that is easy for you to remember. Avoid using your AKO account information.

I am trying to connect to the ordering website. All I get is an error message.

In the rare cases in which the ordering web page is down, please send an email to pres.FAMdistribution@conus.army.mil or to LMDS-DLI@conus.army.mil.
Please include your unit's physical address (i.e. street address, building #, etc. - no P.O. Box), a point of contact, and a commercial telephone number for possible expedited delivery.

Why are some of the video files taking a long time to load on my iPad?

Some media files included in the Headstart2 course materials program are quite large. It will sometimes take a few moments to load them, especially if you are using Wi-Fi.

Is the fact that I am operating on a Mac hindering my ability to access Headstart2?

Languages with left-to-right scripts (e.g. Russian, Portuguese, Chinese-Mandarin) are viewable on Macs. Right-to-left languages such as the Arabic dialects are currently not available for the MAC, but they are under development, as are iPad-compatible versions.
